The Death Penalty Should Be Allowed in Canada

The death penalty should undoubtedly be legal in Canada. People get murdered in Canada almost everyday, and what do we do about it? We put them in jail for a couple decades where they have friends, easy access to cigarettes and drugs, books to read, sports to play, and get recesses, you might as well call it "a school for criminals." If someone murdered a member of your family, would you want them to go to jail for twenty years then be released back into the 'real world' where they could just do the same thing all over again to another person? It's happened before, and it could just as easily happen again. Some people believe that, in certain cases, murders deserve sympathy because they might not have known what they were doing when they committed the crime, you can't kill someone without thinking, and if you can then you should be dead.
The death penalty is a hefty sentence though, so along with my belief in it, I also believe that at least a year of investigations and trials should be put into determining weather or not it is fit for the committed crime. Also if someone committed murder in the act of self-defense, and can justify it in a court of law, they should not be given the death sentence.
It costs roughly $22, 000 per year to keep one person in jail. So if someone got sent to jail for 30 years, that would add up to over $600, 000. Its appalling that our government would fork over that much of tax-payers money to keep a murderer alive than to do the right thing, which is to humanely kill the murderer. Some convicted of murder would actually prefer the death penalty over the many years they would have to spend in jail. So why not save the money you'd be spending on keeping them in jail, and use it to build new schools, or to buy housing for people living n the streets who can't afford it.
Not too long ago people believed in "an eye for an eye" which meant if you cut someone's arm off, for example, you would get your arm cut off as well. I don't believe in that 100% but I do in the case that it involves death. Killers can take the life of an innocent person, but we cant take theirs. That makes no sense whatsoever. If they are proved guilty and put into jail they could easily kill someone in there. As Canadians we should not only be looking out for out own safety, but others as well, and putting murders in the same area as other people is definitely not in the best interest of the others safety.
What would a convicted murderer do when released from prison? With the record they have following them they most likely wouldn't be able to get a job. When they cant make any source of income they will become homeless which will give them two choices: beg for money, or rob stores and people. Its obvious as to which one they'll choose. Even if they got caught they'd only be put back in jail again where they would have food, clean clothing, and showers. It would be like paradise compared to their previous living conditions. So what have they got to lose?
The death penalty may be inhumane, but don't you think the person should have thought about the consequences before they killed someone?

Big Cities Are Better Than Small Towns
Big cities have everything I need to live happily. They have stores everywhere, people running around the streets at any time of day, and an energy that you just love! At any time of the day or night you can walk out your front door and fine a convenience store, a grocery store, and in some cases even a restaurant open and ready to serve you. Also if you ever take your laptop out and go to do some work at a Starbucks for example, you will have free, unlimited wireless internet! Although there are plenty of pro's that come with living in a bit city, there are also plenty of cons. For example if you live in a big city chances are you don't know even 99% of the people around you, and you probably never will. Another con is that there is too much information getting passed around. Everyday there are different news head lines like, "Are we in danger of a hurricane?" or some like "Serial killer on the loose." Those tend to drive people mad with worry, at least they do to me. One more con, just off the top of my head, is all of the noise. There is always construction, a parade, an event, or just people talking way too loudly, you never get any peace an quiet when your living in a bit city.
Small towns shine in they're own personal way. If you live in a small enough town you get the convenience of knowing everyone, that means no more "hey you"'s, it would ultimately become more of a first name basis. Also small towns tend to be quiet which is something that people who have lived in a big city they're whole life have never experience. One of the best things though that come with living in a small town is the lack of information. Being able to go days without hearing any dreary news would be golden. The lack of wireless internet though is something I would not be able to live through. Laptops these days can be used for so many things and to lose access to those things would drive me mad! Also I would imagine the wireless coverage for cell phones isn't too good in most small towns, and for me not being able to have a cell phone is a deal breaker right there.
I'd prefer a big city to a small town any day. I grew up with technology and information and I'm hoping to keep it that way.

I Can't Wait Any Longer
My god I can’t wait to get out of here! There’s nothing even remotely good about this place. It seems like a dungeon. The poorly painted beige walls give off a feeling of sorrow and regret that I cant ever seem to miss. The uptight, black chairs, made to be uncomfortable, are all lined up perfectly beside each other, stretching into a tight circle. The spotless, hardwood floor greets everyone step-by-step with loud squeaks that tear at your ears. The music grinds your ears down bit by bit with its slow, bitter tempo and its lack of modern rhythm. there are people coughing and sneezing all around me, bacteria is storming through the air like a wildfire. Everyone around me looks like they're into their final minutes, with ghostly pale faces, eyes barley open, and breathing so heavily you would think they just ran a marathon. Finally my name was called, I can finally get out of this place.
Teen'ing It Up
"No mom! For once in your life can you have a little trust in me! I'm sixteen now, I should be able to go out till however long I feel like, and go where ever I feel like without having to check up with you every thirty seconds! This is ridiculous!" Mary screamed.
Her mom looked at her in disbelief and took a second to figure out what she should say, "Do you hear yourself right now? Your only sixteen and your talking to me like that! When I was sixteen do you know what I did? I worked every night, I tried to raise money so I could go to university and actually be somebody. It seems like getting out of high school is the last thing on your mind these days Mary, all you ever care about is going out with your friends, and staying out late."
"How long ago were you sixteen huh? You guys probably played with dinosaurs and the biggest thing that probably happened in your teenage years was the discovering of fire. I'm a teenager in the twenty-first century, things are a lot different now and you need to learn to adapt to those changes, or else I'm going to grow up being a social outcast, and I really don't want that! my curfue is only ten o'clock right now, can we at least come to an agreement? How about 11:30? Please!" Mary negotiated.
"Here I'll make you a deal. I'm going to give you an 11 o'clock curfue for 2 weeks and if you make it home on time with no issues during that time, then I will make your curfue 11:30. Do we have a deal?" She asked
"Yeah! Thank you mom!" Mary shouted.
"Your welcome Mary, just make sure your home on time, I don't want to have this argument repeated." She retorted.
"I will! Thanks!"

Rant
Bullies have no excuse for what they do. They go around day in and day out making other peole feel bad so that they themselves can feel better. But how does that even work? They call people ugly or stupid and somehow out of nowhere they gain some sort of new found self confidence. That sounds like rubbish. Bullies do what they do so that they can feel big, they dont care about being confident, or being cool, they just want to feel like they're better than everyone else. When they feel like they're not scaring others, or when they think they don't have enough power they target another poor person who probably just wnated to stay out of the spotlight and get through school. Bullies make they're targets lives a living hell, there is no other way to describe it. They humiliate, make fun of, and bother these kids until they're spirit is completely gone. Bullies don't take into account what harm they're doing to these kids, they could be nice people who have never done anything wrong and yet still the bullies number one priority is to make the poor kid cry. Every kid I have ever seen getting bullied I have helped out and encouraged to come forward and tell somebody, because who wants to go through high school being picked on by someone who's IQ is probably in the negatives (yes I know its not possible but for them it must be).
